Too Manny Doctor Visits
In the last few weeks it seems like as all I do is go to the doctors for check ups. The last doctor told me I was getting older, WOW. I wasn't surprised, but I didn't need reassuring rhetoric and affirmation to help me connect with the fact. I'm actually ok with getting older, but it does get one to thinking.
As I reflect on my life the one thing that comes to mind is how much time I have wasted. Seating around watching TV...not having any types of goals to achieve...running around with out much direction or motivation. I find myself wanting to go back in time and change a few things. I am, finding I have quite a few regrets. This is really something I can't change, but would like too. The funny thing is its just another way of wasting time.
It is too easy to live in the past or the future, but to be in the "Here and Now" seems to be the way to live a healthier life style. To do this leads you to look at the things in your life that give you joy & happiness. We all can judge ourselves very easily, but are we being fair? I use to play tennis, but if you judged me against John McEnroe, this might not be fair. If you judged us fairly I might be able to compete. What I mean is my temperament on the court is amazing compared to his, but I fall short with his abilities as a player. The bottom line is judging ourselves is never a good venture.
So, we need to find the actives that get us life. Furthermore, we will have a better chance doing this if we are gentle with ourselves. Taking time to stand back and take a deep breath during times of discouragement can hope us center our lives and feel better about life and the discussions we make. It's as simply as the old adage of "stopping to smell the roses." Changing our perspectives can add so much to our daily lives. Don't be afraid of change...
